IEP Webinar - The Prior Written Notice and Consent for Services

Course Description: The PWN webinar is designed for both new and veteran special education staff who are responsible for completing the PWN document at the conclusion of an IEP meeting (or non-meeting).  During this session, we will discuss the legal implications of completing the form correctly, and navigate through the process of filling it out completely so that the learner can ensure that they are providing the legal education decision-maker(s) with fully-informed consent.

Learning Objectives: 

• Learner will explain the purpose of the PWN and when it is to be completed/distributed (provide specific examples)

• Learner will gain base understanding of the form and the options that should be considered each time the form is completed based on the situation/individual

• Learner will apply knowledge learned to successfully complete PWN form(s) at the conclusion of IEP meetings (and any other time a PWN is required)
